Or listen on:
Check this out:
What started with a Product Hunt and AppSumo launch and a barebones MVP ended up snowballing into a SaaS marketing machine.
Who is responsible? Obviously the whole lemlist team but in particular, their CEO Guillaume Moubeche.
I brought Guillaume onto the show to understand lemlist’s SaaS marketing playbook:
- What he believes to be the secret behind their success
- Their Facebook Group content strategy
- His view of “growth hacking”
The discussion brought up seven steps that I think drove the majority of their growth:
- Add value FIRST
- A very efficient launch
- Focus on community
- Agency to SaaS
- Writing for people not search engines
- Connecting growth strategies
- Piggybacking audiences
Before that interview I also breakdown SaaS Marketer progress in May with a focus on how we broke 10k site sessions in our third month:
I share:
- Where this traffic is coming from (HINT: it isn’t paid or organic)
- Why revenue dropped two percent from April to May
- Our listener to lead conversion rate on the site
I hope lemlist’s SaaS marketing playbook and the details on our SaaS content marketing strategy will help you in your SaaS growth story.
Thanks and please remember to share your honest feedback in the form of a rating and review on your favourite podcast listening app 😉
And finally, we got included in a list of the top twenty SaaS podcasts… woohoo, check it out here.
In this episode you also heard from Saravana Kumar, the CEO of Document360 (knowledge base software that scales with your product) about why SaaS Marketers must consider building out a knowledge base to boost organic traffic.
As he rightly says… if you don’t turn up in search engines for terms related for your niche, you don’t exist. And a SUPER efficient way of doing this is to outsource some of your writing to the product, development, technical writing or support team 😉
That’s right…
You help build out the knowledge base, other people do the writing… and you the marketer, get all the credit as your organic traffic goes through the roof.
